9 Days In the Footsteps of Greg Kenya Safari
Trip Summary
Greg’s Story – Standing nearly 4 meters tall with tusks sweeping gracefully to the ground, Greg is one of Africa’s last great “super tuskers” — elephants whose tusks weigh over 100 pounds each. Now in his twilight years, Greg is a living testament to Amboseli’s conservation triumphs. Tracking Greg is not just a wildlife encounter; it’s an emotional journey into the resilience of nature and the legacy of protecting giants for future generations.
-
Nairobi – Discover Kenya’s bustling capital with a conservation twist: meet Rothschild giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, visit orphaned elephants at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and step back in time at the Karen Blixen Museum. Nairobi provides the perfect introduction to Kenya’s conservation success stories.
-
Lake Nakuru National Park – A jewel of the Rift Valley, famed for its rhino sanctuary, Rothschild giraffes, and flocks of flamingos shimmering along the shores of Lake Nakuru. Its birdlife and diverse wildlife make it one of Kenya’s most scenic and compact parks.
-
Masai Mara National Reserve – The crown jewel of Kenya’s safari circuit. Home to the Big Five and the stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal), the Mara offers vast savannahs teeming with predators and prey. Cultural encounters with the Maasai people add depth to the wilderness experience.
-
Amboseli National Park – Iconic views of Mount Kilimanjaro and legendary elephant herds define this park. Amboseli offers intimate encounters with elephants, lions, and a dazzling variety of bird species. But above all, it is home to Greg.
